I have been searching on my beloved Pinterest for indoor projects to keep me occupied. So far, I haven't completed as many as I've wanted. However, I did find a canvas painting project via my friend's pinterest that didn't look to complicated for me. Let's begin with this post by saying that I am painting challenged. The thought of me going to paint something permanently onto a canvas scares me. But there were step by step tutorials that calmed my fears and walked me through this new challenge. Step one: a trip to Michaels was in order for all my supplies (and a few other things that were just to fabulous to pass up).
The pinterest post had the same color palette, and I originally thought I was going to branch out & try something different. But when it came down to it, I really liked the bright orange and navy blue against the gold. It just made me happy. So I went with Germanium and Deep Sea. It took several coats of the base colors but I finally managed to get them painted. Then the tricky part of adding the gold coloring and the soft subtle wisps.. That did NOT go as well.
All in all I liked the final product. Very pleased with "my design" aka Pinterest assistance. I took both of these canvasses to hang up in my office to add a little life & color to the place. My co-workers kept commenting on the color selection and asking if it meant night & day, and thoroughly examining the brush strokes. Haha. They put entirely to much thought into all that. I jut thought it would be pretty. No deep thinking behind the colors.
After all my craft doing, I decided that it was bout time to work on myself. My bestie isn't here to tell me how horrible my hair was looking & I finally understood how bad it was. Made myself a hair appt to change over my blonde summery hair for a subtle darker blonde (I wasn't brave enough to go all out yet). Not to mention that I'm over these darn bangs.
